Eastern European Health Summit: A Day of Connection, Healing, and Hope

On September 18, 2025, over 50 community members, professionals, and advocates came together at the Metropolis Marketplace in Woodburn, Oregon for the first-ever Eastern European Health Summit. It was a powerful day dedicated to the well-being of our families, youth, and elders across Oregon and Washington.

Hosted by Healthy Mind Wellness with Lisa Parks and Konev Consulting, the summit created space for open dialogue about mental health, reducing stigma, and strengthening community care within Eastern European populations. Participants engaged in inspiring keynote presentations, expert-led panels, and hands-on workshops that were all designed to reflect the cultural values and lived experiences of our community.

The day also featured cultural programming that celebrated our shared heritage, along with delicious food from The Pierogi Place and coffee from Café La Onda, fostering warmth and connection among attendees.

Feedback from participants highlighted deep appreciation for the event’s authenticity, practical insights, and the opportunity to connect with others who share a passion for community wellness.

Looking ahead, planning is already underway for next fall’s Eastern European Health Summit, which will be led by the Eastern European Health Board and held on September 15th, 2026, location to be announced. Together, we continue to build healthier, stronger communities through conversation, compassion, and collaboration.
